Sobre IBD

Die Untertunnelung des Ärmelkanals wurde 1802 erstmals von Napoleon vorgeschlagen. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt wurde fast dreißig Mal der Anlauf gemacht dieses Projekt zu beginnen.Einer dieser Versuche wurde 1875 von Ernst von Hesse-Wartegg begleitet, Damals war er noch Ingenieur. Seine Abhandlung beschreibt ziemlich ausführlich die geologische, technische und finanzielle Seite des Vorhabens. Ernst von Hesse-Wartegg wurde kurze Zeit später Diplomat und schrieb im Laufe seines Leben über zwanzig Reisebücher. Der Eurotunnel wurde erst 1990 fertiggestellt.
