This study presents a case study on the effectiveness of a suggested podcast-dictogloss-based strategy in enhancing the listening skills of intermediate-levelstudents at the Arab Open University (AOU) in Egypt. The study involved 60 participants from different majors studying a compulsory English language course; they participated for a period of a 16-week semester. Two podcasts from BBC radio were selected in compliance with the topic of the required lesson. Data were collected through pre-and post-tests, application of dictogloss strategy, as well as a questionnaire to measure students’ perception. The pre-and post-test results were analyzed using paired t-tests. The results of the study revealed a significant improvement in the participants’ listening skills after engaging in the suggested podcast-dictogloss-based strategy. This enhancement was evident in theirperformance in the post-test, which showed a remarkable increase in their listening proficiency. Additionally, the perceptions towards the strategy were generally positive as indicated by the analysis of their responses to the questionnaire.
