La globalización ha permitido al crimen organizado ampliar sus rangos de acción a través de las fronteras nacionales. El tráfico de niños es un fenómeno mundial que involucra a distintos países para su perpetración. Las facilidades del transporte y la comunicación gracias a las nuevas tecnologías, las migraciones masivas, las crisis económicas y financieras mundiales que conllevan más pobreza y violencia, junto con la falta de medidas de protección adecuadas, son factores que inciden en el incremento del tráfico internacional de niños.Este delito es de extrema gravedad porque los delincuentes aprovechan la vulnerabilidad de niñas y niños utilizándolos como meras mercancías, separándolos ilegalmente de su familia y del país de origen o residencia, y abusando de ellos para conseguir ganancias y dividendos ilícitos.Esta obra procura reflejar algunos de sus resultados con el fin de visibilizar este flagelo que preocupa a toda la sociedad.
