Lo scopo di questo libro è quello di illuminare sia gli studiosi che la comunità e lo Stato su come l’ordine di nascita lasci nei bambini segni non identificati ma distruttivi che li influenzano in seguito nello sviluppo. L’autore ha condotto uno studio di caso su studenti maschi e femmine di varie scuole in cui la delinquenza giovanile era dilagante. In totale hanno partecipato 317 studenti che l’autore ha utilizzato come campione di studio nella zona. Lo studio comprendeva il 51,7% di maschi e il 48,3% di femmine. Inoltre, il 21,5% erano primogeniti, il 58% medi e il 20,5% ultimogeniti. L’autore stabilisce una relazione significativa tra ordine di nascita e disturbi della condotta (p= .000) alla df =2. L’autore conclude che l’ordine di nascita e il disturbo della condotta sono probabilmente gli aspetti più importanti della vita. Tuttavia, l’ordine di nascita, in particolare l’essere un ultimo nato, rende più suscettibili ai disturbi della condotta rispetto al primogenito o al mediano. Per questo motivo, nelle scuole dovrebbe essere promosso un programma di autoconsapevolezza sui sintomi del disturbo della condotta e sui comportamenti di ricerca della salute.
