Dieses Buch ist eine experimentelle Arbeit über Ton-Flugasche-Gemische. Es wurden Labortests mit Flugasche-Ton-Gemischen durchgeführt, um den Einfluss der Flugasche auf die Verdichtungseigenschaften der Gemische zu untersuchen, wobei die Flugasche-Menge variiert wurde. Außerdem wurde die Auswirkung einer Erhöhung der Verdichtungsenergie auf die Verdichtungseigenschaften von unvermischtem Ton untersucht, wobei die Anzahl der Schläge pro Schicht variiert wurde. Da Flugasche bekanntermaßen ein Stabilisierungsmittel ist, wird versucht, eine Korrelation zwischen der Flugaschemenge und der Verdichtungsenergie in Bezug auf das maximale Trockengewicht und den optimalen Feuchtigkeitsgehalt herzustellen. Damit soll gezeigt werden, dass die Zugabe einer bestimmten Menge Flugasche gleichbedeutend damit ist, dass dem unvermischten Ton eine höhere Verdichtungsenergie verliehen wird. An den Mischungen, die unterschiedliche Mengen an Flugasche enthielten, sowie an Proben, die mit unterschiedlichen Verdichtungsenergien verdichtet wurden, wurden Proctor-Nadelpenetrationstests durchgeführt.
